Question Need Ideas/Suggestions for New Leather OWB Holster for 686 + Deluxe 3”

Would like something really nice. Exotic skins or trim would be nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Pics too if you have them!

Sorry, don't have any fancy suggestions. Just wanted to tell you that I think you have a 3" barrel in the picture, not a 4".

Yes, you are correct. I have made other posts today about another gun that is a 4” and wasn’t paying attention. Thank you for pointing that out.

Here's a beautiful holster I had Tim at TT Gunleather make for me. Sadly, I sold the gun and the holster years ago.

I was just going to suggest TT Gunleather. I've gotten a few pieces of gear from them, albeit plain with no exotic trim, and the quality is excellent. He has options for exotic trim. IIRC, I think I've seen him offer elephant, ostrich, and shark skins, maybe some others (alligator?). I would definitely suggest checking them out.

That is beautiful! Exactly what I’m talking about. Sorry you sold it. 😞

D. M. Bullard makes some nice stuff. Here's a few I have for a 629 Classic.

I have a nice floral carved with dyed background from Mernickle from about ten years ago for a snub M66. He sold his business so I don't know much about the new people, but they do have a web site.

Rudy could probably make this style for your gun. The shark skin pancake
was quite affordable back when I got it, but that's been a few years ago.
Rudy Lazano's dba is Black Hills Leather.

I'll second on D.M. Bullard. I've have several of his holsters and couldn't be more pleased with them.
You can see his stuff at : Made in USA Premium Leather Holsters, Belts & Accessories – Bullard Leather Mfg.

Simply Rugged makes outstanding OWB holsters, their version of the 3 slot, the "Sourdough Pancake " is very well regarded.

For more historical and works of art in leather, Purdy Gear, seems to do phenomenal, if pricey, totally customized work.

Hope this helps.

Here are a few more ideas for your thought process:
Left: Colt's Agent in a lizard skin pancake by Rudy Lazano
2nd: Lawrence pigskin with S&W model 10 2"
3rd Plain with lizard trim also by Rudy Lazano. With 642-1
4th TJ Chestnut faux gator with 642-1
5th KD's gator trim pancake with Colt's Agent

I've bought multiple custom holsters from Ed Rodek of Rodek Leather Works. I really like his work. Very easy to do business with, very accommodating, and extremely professional. Great guy who I highly recommend. http://www.rodekleather.com/

Dave Workman, well known gun writer and a member of this Forum, made this for me for my 4" 686+.

I know he can do it for a 3" and exotic if that's your preference.
