Default WHO MADE THESE HOLSTERS?

These holsters were offered by Charter Arms, I believe back in the 1960s,
for their small revolvers. They look suspiciously to me,
like maybe the work of Chic Gaylord. Do any of you holster
historians remember who made them?

BTW there is an old Chic Gaylord catalog available to view.
Just Google Chic Gaylord holsters.

I'm 99% certain that I have answered my own question. On one of the
big auction sites I found, what appears to be the same holster, and the
seller says it is by Chic Gaylord. In the text on my photo on the left it
says the color is cordovan, and the holster I found is cordovan. Everything
else looks pretty much the same. So now I know. I think.

Red found some correspondence confirming at least some of the Charter Arms holsters were made by Seventrees.

Red's method is to check the pattern of the belt loop stitching that is distinctive for Gaylord v Seventrees.

Of course, some, such as De Mayo, copied the style.

P.S. I don't have pictures of the backside of a Seventrees style Charter Arms in my file, but I do have a photo of a second type that looks more like a Safariland. I'd guess JP or Cobra for the maker, but that's guessing.

Yes, Red authenticated a couple of my Gaylords and a Seventrees using
the "stitch signature".

The picture on the left is Chic Gaylord's stitch signature.
2nd from left holster on the left is Seventrees stitch signature.
(Not sure, but I think the one on the right is Bell-Charter-Oak.)

I compared the stitch signature on one of my Gaylords with the
one I mentioned for sale on an auction site. Now I am 100%
sure that it is an authentic Chic Gaylord. I would buy it, but the
seller is trying to get enough to retire, or so it would seem.

Well I bit the bullet and bought that Chic Gaylord holster on the auction
site. It was one of those offer, counter offer, etc. etc. situations and I
probably paid waaaaay too much. But as I have said before, I never did
see a hearse pulling a U-Haul Trailer. One time when I said that, someone
Muss I think, showed us a picture of a hearse pulling a U-Haul Trailer.

Well, it should be here in about a week. I will try to pretty it up as much
as I can and then show it off with a blow by blow epistle. Stay tuned.
