Heiser Fans - Check This Gem Out!
If you are a Heiser Holster collector, and I know there are quite a few here, check this out. Can you imagine walking into a store in the 1920’s or 30’s and seeing this gem filled with about a dozen brand new holsters of all kinds? It is made of oak and in very nice shape, and the thing that really makes it stick out to me, is the curved front glass. It measures 20” x 32” x 15”. The front lifts up to gain entry. I remember seeing, and I cannot remember who here owns it, a fantastic vintage S&W display with a curved glass front. Won’t this make a wonderful display for vintage Heiser holsters? Tell me what you think of it.

As Paul Harvey used to say, “now for the rest of the story “. I found this while surfing the web last week. It was in an auction last Saturday. It belonged to a collector named Roger Wilmot who passed away a few months ago. A very large quantity of his collection was in the auction, and he had a lot of nice things. He may have been a member here, I don’t know.
I have never participated in an auction like this before, so I watched a couple early in the week to get a feel for how they worked. Anyway, the pre-auction estimates were $300 to $600, I think. I decided to place an early bid of $300. I was already picturing my Heiser holster collection in the display.😀 The next day, I was outbid to $325.☹️ Strangely, the estimate changed to $600 to $900. The auction was to start at 4pm Saturday. I woke up Saturday and did a few chores before lunch. After lunch, I watched some TV until about 3pm, and then promptly fell asleep!😳 I woke up in a stupor and didn’t even think about the auction until 7pm.
I just knew that I was going to look up the auction results and see that it had sold cheaply. When I looked it up, it had sold for $3750!! WOW. So with buyers premium of 20 percent, packing, and shipping (and maybe taxes, I don’t know), the total would have been about 5 grand or more. I still liked it very much and wish I had deep pockets......and a better nights sleep the night before.😀 And now you know the rest of the story.

I like it a lot, but not $3750+!!!
I’m sure the new owner will appreciate it!

Charlie,
I wish I could say it was mine, but I was outbid in short order. I sure could have filled it up with some nice Heiser holsters though. Roger Wilmot, the previous owner sure had some nice items in the auction.
