Default IWBs that are ACTUALLY tuckable?

Does anyone know if there are any J-frame-sized IWB holsters that are actually tuckable? I typically wear coat and tie at work and the tuckable holsters I've looked at are sort of laughable. I guess I'm just not convinced that it's doable at all.

Thanks.

Desantis Soft Tuck Holster Iwb. Very good imo., angle adjustable for orientation / cant, used one for years for my G27. Not sure they make one for your model, check it out.

Hubby tucks his PCR when he dresses up and you can't tell.

Here's the one for a "J".

I use a Desantis Slim-Tuk when I have to tuck a shirt in.

They make a J frame holster.

Just got a Galco Tuck-n-go and not immediately liking it. Feels bulky, the tuck area is pretty tight, needs a side guard. If I removed the metal hold-open strip and used a hammerless it would be a lot better, I think. I will say the clip is genius, like that a lot.

My favorite IWB is still the SoftArmor PH-3... having no clip I suppose it is tuckable, tho I never have tried it. $11 on ebay.

Thanks for the recommendations. I find it sort of comical (meaning irritating) that virtually all of the videos I see for tuckable holsters show them NOT in a tucking situation and then say something like "and you can tuck your shirt around it if you want."

The Alien Gear looks like it might be doable, although it seems like overkill and I would prefer one clip to two (easier to hide). Maybe the Sof-Tuck would work.

Horsehide Crossbreed Super Tuck.

I’ve got two; one for an M&P .40 and another for a P220 carry.

Both are very comfortable and I can adequately conceal either of those large frame pistols under a tee shirt or a tucked button down.

They’re excellent IWB holsters and actually tuckable too.

Thanks. That one looks like the same sort of concept as the Alien Gear. Probably worth checking out.

I have quite a bit of experience with the High Noon SuperTuck and DeSantis Sof-Tuck. The High Noon was the most economical, but no cant adjustment and no reinforcement of the mouth of the holster. The Sof-Tuck has a reversed J belt hook, which I find makes the hook less noticeable, reinforced holster mouth for easier re-holstering, and the belt hook has, I think, 6 positions. When I use a Sof-Tuck, I generally place the belt hook in the up position, but there have been times when I have angled it forward or even backward for a cross-draw.

A truly tuckable holster for a dress shirt and slacks would be tough to find that's truly neat looking when tucked. An ankle holster is your best hope.

I bought a Desantis Soft Tuck for j frames. Tried it one time in the bedroom mirror, then tossed it into the holster drawer. Nothing against the holster, but I discovered tuckable holsters just weren't my thing.

That's where I've been as well. I'll give a couple of these a try but I suspect it's not going to work. The ankle carry is an interesting idea but it would have to be more like shin carry.

Maybe I should permanently affix velcro to the small of my back and go with that ...

I use the tuckable Theis hybrid IWB successfully. I’ll readily admit to using my wife’s assistance with tucking in my shirttail, but I can carry a Glock G45 without it being noticeable.

Theis holsters are a great value, and turnaround is usually two weeks. As with any IWB holster, choosing not to be a modern day tub of margarine is helpful.

I think it's going to be a tall order, to look presentable and still concealed. I've never liked IWB holsters as I've never found them comfortable, and the photos I've seen of the tuckables make me say to myself "that will never work".

If you can get away with never taking the coat off, you might consider a small-of-the-back holster or perhaps a shoulder holster. Otherwise, I think the prior recommendation of an ankle holster would be a good option. Or if you wear your shirts loose, perhaps a belly band holster. Lastly, there's always pocket carry in a good quality pocket holster.

I never take the coat off in class, so an IWB small-of-the-back should work. I hadn't given it much thought before, but there's a decent chance that university campuses could get "interesting" this semester.

I was actually thinking about OWB small-of-the-back instead of IWB. That way you don't have the shirt getting all messed up in the back.

A hybrid iwb like crossbread (would not recommend alien gear) tucks and carries nice, especially if you are wearing a coat over it. If you don't go tuckable iwb, I'd definitely recommend pocket over small of the back, or ankle. Imo pocket is the best place for a j frame.

The Crossbreed Bellyband works better than all of my other tuckable holsters combined. I have worn this under a suit with a full-size gun - no problem!

Have a ComforTac belly band (Amazon) that I wear every morning when on my mountain bike, carries my LCP and my smart phone. Very comfortable, fully conceals under a T shirt. Could easily wear it under a shirt...need it in a hurry, a few buttons won't get in the way. For a J-frame, would go with Crossbreeds.
