Good day all. I'm on the look-out for a belt holster that will accommodate an antique S&W Frontier DA in .44 Russian (4"barrel). I have a local guy who'll make one, but he's pricey and I'm an old fart on a pension. I like leather, but I'm not adverse to synthetic. It may make a difference that it would have to make it's way to Canada. Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

Although what I would do is ask any shop or possibly a friend with a box of used holsters if I could try some with my completely unloaded revolver. You might find something wonderful that way but I can see that might not work in the land up North.

What you will find is a fairly generic for your gun. A Hunter holster for a Colt New Service will be about as close as you will find, at least that is what I found and have used for my Frontier for the past nearly 60 years.

Thank you for the suggestions. With the virus shut downs we have no gun/militaria shows in the foreseeable future and they were my "go-to" for odds and ends. From what I've seen on pricing, my neighbour's estimate of $100. or so is pretty reasonable and I'll get a holster fitted to my pistol. Pension or no, I'll have to bite the bullet on this one (so to speak).
