Heiser flap holster- update
I'm not even sure why I bought this one... . It's a pretty plain jane holster and I'm not even sure what it fits
But I have learned some thing from you knowledgeable folks
the rivets with the three Hs put it relatively early.

I saw that and can’t decipher the etched information. Looks like it should fit a medium frame revolver with a 5” or so barrel, that sure looks like an etched 5 to me.
I think Heiser ran out of those rivets in the mid to late 1920’s.
A 9 prefix indicates medium weight leather.
Let us know when you figure out what it fits.
Regards,
turnerriver

Your first photo, on the left, clearly shows where the cylinder was with the
gun in the holster. Could you measure from the bottem of that indentation
down to the muzzle. I'm wondering if it could be 4.75" that would suggest
it could be for a Single Action Army. I think I also see the outline of the
ejector tube in the same photo. Or if you have a SAA with 4.75" barrel
to try, that would be easier. I like a good mystery.

I haven't received it yet but I do have a 4.75 SAA that I can try when it gets here.
I don't generally buy non tooled holster but this one was pretty cheap and I saw the 5 on it and was hoping it might fit a 5 inch N frame.

It very well might. I saw it on the site where you bought it and one of
the pictures showed the distance from inside front to back at the mouth
being about 3.25" and that is also the distance for an N frame. Be sure
to let us know.

Like you I'd rather have a carved or tooled Heiser and I really only own one other smooth but it is laced which makes it a little nicer.

Got the holster, it's not for a SAA. I was hoping for a fitment of a 5 inch n frame it will but not one with adjustable sights. Picture shows my 5 inch TL which is a little tight so my thoughts are would fit a 5 inch M&P better but I don't have one to try.
