Discreet gun case part deux...it’s a...
Bad idea? Likely.
Hi folks,
I saw a nice jerrycan at the farm store, and it came home. It turned out to be too nicely made to easily bifurcate...more on that one later.
I later found a craptastic green jerrycan on the auction site, and it arrived today.
It is as ****** as the pics suggested, maybe even more.
Gentle application of 35,000 rpm
Pre-rusted interior for your convenience ! No waiting !
I’m really not sure how this one’s going to turn out. I guess we’ll find out together.

There are so many oddball cases out there for discreet gun carrying it might be worth the effort but I get it.

Finally got a chance to work on this a bit. The ugly center weld area was sectioned out, along with the center handle.
Some automotive edge trim to dress up the edge, and it’s not looking like a complete shambles anymore.

Looks good so far. What are you planning to carry in the new can?

Around here, a can that looks like it might be full of gas is more likely to be stolen than a gun that has been shoved up under the seat.
Just sayin'...............

Here is what I have. I did not make it.
I don't think that something like this would grab the attention of a typical thief.

I take this to church with me nearly every Sunday. That is a CZ 75 in the picture, but I now carry a SIG/Sauer P226 in it, along with 2 spare mags.

Thanks!
I’m thinking about a 617 / Victory combo for the can-o-22s...not sure yet.

Most any Christian bookstore will carry bible bags, which are zippered covers, usually with a handle. These can be perfect as-is, or easy to modify the inside with some foam rubber.

A gas can with a seam is an instant fake in my eyes! Even if the seam were invisible it would have to be stored where a gas can would normally be stored (garage or shed) which is not a good place for a hand gun!
IMHO not a good idea.

This one has a rather prominent seam, even prior to my delicate ministration.
I’m not trying to sneak something past TSA here, folks. This is more of a fun range-bag idea.

Since we don’t want the spout ever opening again, it got pinned
Measuring for the hinges...is there nothing the SCSW4 cannot do?
A spacer is required. Some type of board, perhaps made of corrugated card stock would be good here...I don’t even know what one would even call it...
Marked for drilling....wait, what’s that strange thing in center?
Some pop rivets and a salvaged briefcase hinge later, we have this:
I’m still not sure what ‘this’ is, but it’s something.

What is the hook-shaped black plastic piece screwed on below the trigger guard?

Hope gnystrom doesn't mind me chiming in. On AIWB holsters, it pulls the grip of the gun into the body from belt pressure for better concealment.

That is a Vedder Light Tuck and the "claw" just below the trigger guard is very effective at pulling the gun into your body.
