Oooh! A neat, older wood box. Hinged, nice grain...could use a cleanup.

Altho I used to build new display boxes, mainly for handguns, I have used old wood boxes from yard sales. If the box is still sturdy and shows some degree of above average build and is not deeply scarred, then it is a good candidate for refinishing. I built all my boxes from red oak and brass fittings and several sizes.

Looks like you could comfortably fit nine 4”, N frames in one layer. Or one revolver and all the necessary reloading equipment.
