For a variety of reasons, I feel the need to return to my roots - revolvers. So - after decades of carrying semi-autos in kydex with various types of release levers for retention, I am returning to revolvers for my daily CCW. And as someone with an extensive background in martial arts, I am aware that there is a strong possibility that any use of my firearm might be preceded by hand-to-hand combatives - either vertical or horizontal. I, therefore, require my revolver holsters to have some basic level of retention - with the obvious choice being a thumbreak of some type.
So.... The search started! For my model 22-4, I ended up with a Simply Rugged holster with a thumbstrap long enough to be a large belt for Celine Dion! I'm now looking for a holster for my 4" 625. As it has an underlug, it cannot fit in the S-R holster for the 22-4 with thin barrel. That's OK, as this time around I'd like to find something with a "traditional" (i.e., short) thumbreak for retention.
Wow - there really isn't a lot out there - or at least I haven't found much yet.
Any suggestions? Like to keep it under $150-175 if possible.
TIA
