This is a pandemic and they are not social distancing
I didn’t mean to round up the herd but once I started I just couldn’t stop so aside from a few strays, this is the whole herd and no I don’t have enough. Bill

I know what you mean. I have a few too. Sorry for the poor lighting.
I have a walk in closet, lock on the door, one wall covered with peg board.
I haven't counted recently, but I think there is about a dozen dozen.

Nice collections. Don't have a lot of holsters. I've got Remoras for my 92 and PX4 to use as nightstand holsters so I don't inadvertently stick my finger in the trigger guard if I have to grab them at night.
Each of my 642s has a Nemesis. I also have a Blue Force Gear J-frame pocket holster and a Wilderness Tactical Renegade ankle rig. Edit: Can't believe I forgot my Side Guard Holsters Quick Clip IWB. Used it for several years and still use it on occasion.
I only have a cheap Uncle Mike's IWB holster for my Govt Model.
I've got a JM Kydex IWB#3, TT Gunleather reinforced Mike's Special IWB, and a Kramer horsehide IWB#3 for my PX4.
The Kramer is my favorite, and I would like to eventually get one for my 92 and my 1911. Maybe get a Milt Sparks Summer Special II for my 1911 as they're easier to come by. Plus it'd be an iconic holster for an iconic gun.
Maybe if I have time later I'll do a photo shoot. *shrug*

I count eleven holsters in your post if you have two 642s. In this crowd you are a slacker.

Obviously those are for more than one pistol? I thought I had a bunch. Just threw away a few too. Shoulder holsters and others.

I social distanced once. But a gang of 10-year-olds beat me up. I don't social distance anymore, and I walk with a limp now. There's a lesson there.

CrazyPhil,
That's very cool how you've got them on pegboard like that - something that's never occurred to me to do, though I don't have that many to require it. Mine are just all in a couple different boxes, ones I've accumulated over the years for various handguns. Some I liked and others not so much. The ones I carry frequently (Milt Sparks Summer specials or SimplyRugged have become my go-to)
We're all curious about the vast collection you must have! I've sure enjoyed seeing your posts and admiring them.

Nice picture, Bill and Phil. How many different manufacturers are represented?
Now all we need is a similar picture by John W.😃👍 Of course, the picture would have to be taken with a drone over the floor of the local coliseum.

Larry, I haven’t counted each maker but Heiser is the most prevalent win Myers and Lawrence coming in second and third. I’ve got some Eubanks Speed Martin and Colorado Saddelry bringing up the rear. One Brill finally. Bill

If I told you or showed you how many holsters are here you’d all band together to have me declared legally insane and then take all these holsters.
Here’s a photo of my Evaluators Ltd. wall in the holster vault. The sign and the double Heiser rig hung in the store and were used at field events.

That is kind of an old photo. I have no idea how many makers
I have represented in all of my holster collection, but most of them are
represented in my book. You do have my book don't you Larry?
And I agree with you about John, if he made a group photo of his holsters
he would probably need to rent the Orange Bowl and a helicopter to get
them all into the picture.

Silly question from a 3 holster guy just getting back to shooting (one of the few permitted activities outdoors during covid). Do you guys with those begillion (from an old commercial) holsters know what gun each of them would fit?? Not being sarcastic, just really would like to know if they have any markings, etc on them.

Yes and no. Some makers had size information stamped on their holsters, some had etched or inked information sometimes and some didn’t have any information at all. Here are a few examples.
George Lawrence holsters had size information-a description before WW II, a group size code after the war and a 3 digit specific code after 1963.
Both S.D. Myres and Heiser inked or etched information on some but not all holsters.
A few other makers’ markings.
And finally, lots of information except sizing.
Regards,
turnerriver

Thanks for the words and additional up close pictures. What great pieces of history that reflect when "hand made" was a craft and skill to be appreciated. I am sure there still a few hand made craftsman out there. Sure they hope they pass that trade down to the next generation.

Back in the previous century I was totally sane. Then around the turn of
the century I started collecting holsters. Trying to figure out what guns
various holsters were made for is one of the reasons I am now crazyphil.
I believe there are many craftsmen making holsters out there, and many
of them do very nice work. I am referring here to leather workers, not
those who use plastic or nylon.
Every now and then I hear or read that "hand made" reference. As far as
I know, all good leather holsters are hand made. Does anyone know
another way to make them?
