Default Be still, my heart !

I had a conversation with Doc Barranti a short while ago and asked him to build me one of his pocket holsters for my pre-war 2" 1905.
I had been using the Heiser IWB holster I found a while ago as a pocket holster. It worked well, but lacked pizzazz, so I asked Doc to "pimp" this one out a little for me.
Here is what he came up with. I am impressed to say the least. It is very secure, the revolver slides out easily on demand, but rides snugly otherwise. The holster never shifts, does not try to come out with the gun and does not "print". I use it in my front pocket, but it fits easily as well in the back.
Not just tooled, but lined to boot. It just seems such a shame to hide it in my pocket.

I love Doc's carving of the five petal wild rose.

Ive not followed holsters such as yours here..but that is pure artistry in leather !!
I hear your thought about it being hidden
out of sight..that would be nice to be seen.
It is a great servant to your security..
Thanks for sharing it..
Best Randy..

That is gorgeous, would be hard to hide it in your pocket. Very classy for sure.

You put that in your pocket? You naughty boy! Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame. Go stand in the corner and repeat one hundred times: "I will not hide my holster from the world."

I think it needs some sort of belt clip to show it off. I just can't imagine hiding something that pretty. Nice.

Very, very nice work. True artistry.

I like that it remains hidden in your pocket. Makes it especially classy, in my view. And, it'll look nice on your desk top, end table or night stand, etc.

Spot on. It is akin to the fancy inlaid tops on some of my cowboy boots. Hidden beauty.

Way to good looking to hide. You need to build a shadow box, put the gun and holster in it, and carry it over your head everywhere you go! Fantastic work.

Beautiful work.
I see where you say you carry it in a front pocket but works well in a rear pocket also. By the shape it looks like it was designed for a rear pocket. Do you know if that was Doc's intent?
Just wondering.

Thanks, Scott,
I've pretty much quit chasing vintage stuff. I just tell Doc what I wish I had, and he takes it from there.

Bruce

It is essentially his Hip Pocket Holster, but I prefer it in the front. Normally, the smooth side of the leather is turned in, and that is the case on the rear side of the holster. Since I wanted it tooled, the smooth side had to be out, so he glued a thin slice of leather to the inside front for me.

Regards,
Bruce
