Default Are These Supposed to be Paddle Holsters? Update- Now They Are

Anyone ever seen holsters like these? They are easy to put on but are not very secure. Am I missing something? There is even an adapter to allow a normal holster to have this same flap style.

That’s how early paddle holsters were. Stick em in and crank down your belt.

Looked up how to harden leather and did just that to one of the holsters and it worked. The fold is hard and holster is much more secure. Looking them over I'm more impressed than I was at first. They are all made with two layers of leather, so the backs of all hardware are covered by leather.
