Barranti Leather Goodness (with a 27-2)
These pictures were taken, if I remember correctly, right after the Barranti Leather goods arrived; they’ve since started accumulating a bit of “carry-wear,” as I’ve been thoroughly enjoying them!
Shown are Barranti’s CCR OWB holster, their 6-Pack Triple Deuce 2x2x2 ammo carrier, and a well-travelled 27-2 with 3-1/2” barrel.
I most often carry a 1911 (with a J-frame in a pocket holster for back-up) and have for some time now. I must say, though, that this particular wheelgun and leather combo (after considerable range-time and dry-fire time) is starting to see its own share of concealed-carry usage.
Pictures attached.

I will 2nd the Barrranti Leather Goodness. Here is a Brill like holster Doc
made for me several years ago. It is shown with my Model 19 with 4" barrel.
At the time He called it his Ranger Model, with the "dog ear" as
an add on. The belt was made by David Keith. The knife sheath
was made by Big Sky.

Barranti makes some fine leather! I’ve acquired a few this year. Here is a Hank Sloan for my beloved Model 58. I mistakenly ordered Natural color when I really wanted Saddle Tan. It’s just different enough that I’ve grown to like the color.

Oh, I like that Hank Sloan @sixgun100!
I have something similar coming soon-ish from Milt Sparks for a five-inch 27 - I’ve always like the look of that style holster!

Love the Barton Special concept, but to me they sound a bit like witchcraft. Since your post makes it sound like you like the Barton Specials, can you speak to their use?
Here’s my main questions -
Does it carry a 30-40oz weight well, without shifting?
Where do you carry it, body wise?
What kind of belt - thickness and such - works best?

I picked up an original Myres Barton Special years ago to add to my collection of vintage holsters because it just seemed an oddball. At that time, Texas law stated that if you had a handgun visible in your vehicle, it had to be attached to your body. The Barton Special worked out well for this because I could stick it on my left side for cross-draw while driving, then switch to strong side when I exited the vehicle. After developing chronic lower back pain, I found the Barton Specials to be convenient because I could easily shift their location throughout the day to ease some pain if needed. I wear them almost exclusively now for that reason.
I carry a pre-war 2" M&P almost daily in the first Special that I picked up. I have since had Doc build two for a couple of Colt Lightweight Commanders in Super 38 that I sometimes carry and one in a Colt Officer's size for the wife's little Ruger. Oh, and I sometimes stick a little Beretta 380 in one of the Commander rigs.. Colt Lightweight weighs in about 29 oz. ( I think ) empty and it has always felt secure. I have not yet carried an N frame, but I have seen some original Myres built for the N's so I think a 4" will be OK.
I have yet to have one shift on me, but anything is possible. I like to carry cross-draw at about 8 o'clock or strong side at about 1 o'clock, but as I said, I have been known to shift locations based on back pain. I wear a high quality 1 1/4" lined belt that tapers to 3/4", and I also wear a simple fabric back brace with velcro closures under my shirt.
Edit : I forgot to mention they come in a cross-draw, strong side, or neutral cant.

bruce5781,
With back problems, it might not be OK. I have an original Myres Barton Special for a 6.5" N frame. I sure wouldn't want to carry something that heavy for very long. The holster does hold the revolver very securely to your belt.

Thanks Larry,
Your's is the N frame that I recall seeing. I agree, 6.5" might be a bit much.

Bruce
