I have Hunter Holsters and Bucheimer holsters that are designed like this but I had never heard or seen a holster almost identical designed holster by C. A. HOFFMAN & SON MFRS. ARLINGTON CAL. model 22 size 4"

I had one like this for 1911. It had mag pouch on holster and strip under loops to keep 45s from going on through. Mine was suppose to be water buf. I found it no good for going through hatches. Sent it to a forum member in Ca who collects RVn artifacts. Seems like it shrunk over last 52yrs, couldn’t get it around my waste anymore. If I remember right I traded a carton of cigarettes to dinks for it.

The carving pattern is not by Sessums, whose holsters were made by a man named Rogers (Bedell Rogers' father):
sessums da (11).jpg
It's the carving pattern of Kluge, who made A.W. Brill's holsters beginning 1912. This one is known to be made for a Texas Ranger who served 1916-17, R.C. Vaughn:

The Brill carving pattern changed substantially beginning 1932 when Rabensburg became A.W. Brill's maker:

Nothing special but one of my all time favorites. Right out of the revolver detective era, the Bianchi 5BHL. Probably one of the "most sold" holsters ever.

I’d probably have more holsters except for the fact I’m a leftie, and those were hard to come by early in my career (retired in ‘97 w/30 years).

Charlie,
Tried to send you a pm but your mailbox is full.
Here is the content of the pm.
“Charlie,
Regardless of who made that Brill, it is nice! Is that a 4” N frame in it?

Kevin, I sent you a pm about Charlie. I happen to remember this gun. It was an Austin Police Department marked 3 1/2" Model 27-2 that he picked up at a gunshow for a song years ago.

Thank you Larry,
I had not noticed the “Absent Comrade” tagline under Charlie’s avatar.

I’m left handed also… I can shoot with either hand but probably better with my right.
Here’s a left handed one for you!

You've been away from this forum a very long time; lots longer than I have been. Have long admired your gunleather images.

The only holster that would be simpler than that would be the old IRA string holster!
