Bob, that's a great looking combo!
You mentioned in your post that it was a "Dallas" non-reg magnum. Can you tell me what you mean by "Dallas"... Dallas P.D. ?
Thanks!

Linda,
I'm sorry I was so vague. I had posted about the gun previously and I was so excited with the new Myres "Threepersons" that I didn't detail the gun again.
It is a non-Registered magnum (sn 614xx) that shipped on May 17, 1940 and was delivered to "City of Dallas, Municipal Employees Credit Union, Room 9, Police Department, Dallas, TX., Attn.: V. S. Judson, Secretary". It shipped with the 3.5" barrel, ramp front sight, blue finish, and walnut Magna grips. The HBH was not listed on the invoice.
I have not been able to trace the gun back any further in the DPD museum records but I have a feeling that the gun was purchased by an officer with a loan or payroll deduction from his credit union. If so, apparently Secretary Judson ordered it and the Factory shipped it to him for distribution to the buyer upon payment. Of course, it is always possible that Sec. Judson ordered it for his own use.
Thanks for your interest.
Bob

Hello
I don't have that many holsters, but I'll try and post what I do have.
I bought this holster at a local antique shop for $5 while back. I have no clue who made it, or how old it is. If anyone knows that, please let me know.
The revolver is my 1960's Model 10-5.

vintagegunleather.com recently had a HH Heiser 3.5 inch N frame holster from the 50s, nicely tooled. it would have looked sharp with my pre 27 3.5 inch. but i couldnt justify the 199$ at the time..

Hello folks, 1st post here. This is my recently inherited .38 S&W MP Model of 1905, 4th change circa 1940/41 with the holster it came with. Having figured out the revolver the question that remains is just what is up with the holster? There is no discernible way to attach the holster to something, belt, vest, shoulder rig, etc. If anyone knows I’d love to be in the know as well. Ohh…sorry about the pic quality all I have is a cell phone cam.

The piece with the two tabs with snaps folds down behind the holster, forming a loop to pass your belt through. The tabs wrap around the front of the holster and snap together in front
to secure it.

That does work, however the exposed leather forming the belt loop has the ruffed surfaced out and the finished surface on the belt. Was it also intended to be used as a flap over the top of the revolver when not wearing the holster, as in my pic?
Thanks for the input, I've seen 2 "alleged"...lol gunsmiths that couldn't figure it out not to mention several friends.

1917 and Vintage leather
Howdy
Here is a pic of a 1917 and a vintage Lawrence holster. Ok not don't go fuming about the holster. My father Thomas Lawrence made it. I inherited it in 1966 when he passed away. Seven days short of my 13th birthday.
Stocks are not original as many of you know but it sure is a smooth gun.
Dates to 1919.

Also one of my fav threads, and John always has something juicy to add.
These are my latest Lawrence lined, half-flap holsters; One with a K-38 and KB grips and the other with a 2cd Model .44...
I'd sure be curious to approximate their vintage?

At left is my 1948 K-22 with a Colorado Saddlery holster I got from forum member turnerriver. At right is my Grandfather's .32 Regulation Police from 1924 with the unmarked holster he carried it in for over 30 years.
