Mark
Both are marked OM , one is OM6 (507) and the other OM6 1/2 (511) . 507 takes an Officers Model target pictured and nothing larger . The 511 is a good fit for the .44 HE second model pictured with it . 507 must just have been miss marked. Couldn't get the other markings on the 511 to show in a picture .

Eddie

PS : I have the original grips for all the Smiths pictured but prefer the Magnas for use .

Well, let's keep it going. Here's a pair of S.D. Myres holsters, an early IWB holster and a Pink Simms model holster designed to be hooked to your suspender strap.

Another Texas maker, C.I. Tibiletti of Victoria, Texas.

Crazyphil aka Lucky-B gave me this holster and after removing an adaptor inside it that 'necked it down' to a K frame, it is clear it was made by Chic Gaylord to fit an N frame (the moulding into the cylinder flutes now matches, didn't on the K frame). It's made of two layers of thin horsehide, held together with stout nylon cord. Carry angle is precisely 32 degrees positive (i.e., pistol angled with the rear sight forward of the front sight).

I recently got a 1957 pre model 10 nickel 4" and added the stag grips. The S&W model 22 Basket weave size 34 holster looks like it was made for this gun.

I have had this 39-2 in nickel for a while. Recently I bought this Floral Carved S&W Model 11 holster for it so it is picture time.

Well Bruce, not only did you find one, you found a really nice one. I really like the color of that one. Lately, it seems to me, that when I am just about to give up on finding something, one will fall in my lap.

Great Western came into being when Colt announced that they would never bring back the Single Action Army revolver. However the popularity of "Cowboy Movies and Television" made Colt change their mind. Shortly after Great Western got started Colt announced that the SAA was coming back. This Great Western 45 Colt Sheriff or Store Keeper model with 3" barrel without ejector looks great in this Hunter Holster.

Well there was that, plus an obscure single action introduced in 1953.

I think it rhymed with “Luger” or something.

I have not seen many Model 15-2 38 Special Combat Masterpieces in 2" so I had to get it.

What about a holster. This Bianchi Model 13 can be worn on a belt and works well or can be worn on the shoulder strap that works better than it looks.

Prior to 1911 all 22 rimfire S&W revolvers were quite small. West Coast Dealer Philip Bekeart convinced S&W that if they used the 32 I frame and made a 22 LR target revolver he would buy a lot of them. Thus Smith & Wesson developed the 22/32 Heavy Frame Target or Bekeart model. I have one that was first shipped Jan 1917. I did not have a holster for it. Since the 22/32 Targets (model 35) were discontinued in 1973 holsters are not pleantiful. I got this H.H.Heiser Model 418 Holster in Reno.

I bought this FBI QUICK DRAW holster that came from EVALUATORS of QUANTICO, VA so it is quite possible that at one time it belonged to an FBI agent. My 38/32 Terrier fits it beautifully. Some day I might get the proper I frame grips. The Later S&W grips work fine.

Back in the 1980s my Police Duty plain clothes revolver was this S&W Model 13 3" modified to DA only. I needed a holster for under my jacket but did not have a proper holster. I had a couple of 4" holsters and took 1 and shortened it a bit. It worked fine for the type details that I worked.

The Lawrence model 100 Quick Draw Flap Holster has fascinated me for years. Many years ago I had the chance to buy one like new for a 6 1/2" N frame S&W but I only had a 4" N at the time. I considered buying it and cutting off 2 1/2" but could not consider doing that to such a nice holster. All of the Lawrence ads for the model 100 that I have ever seen have contained the words "For Revolvers Only". According to "Ed McGivern's Book" the quick action flap top holsters were designed by Joseph R. Diekan, 41 Fulton St. New York, N Y. There are 2 examples shown on pp 376 of the BOOK. I recently got a Lawrence Model 100 in size 643 for a S&W Model 41 with 5 1/2" bull barrel. Thus they did make at least one for a semi auto pistol.

I’ve run across 2 Diekan made holsters and a belt, the cartridge belt is marked with Abercrombie & Fitch’s logo as well. The only mention of his work that I’ve run into is in McGivern’s book.

I am glad to see this old thread started by digi-shots revived, I recently found this Floral Carved H. H. Heiser holster marked K 6 in a box of used holsters at my favorite local gun shop. I of course had to bring it home with me. I put the 5" field barrel on my S&W Model 41 and it fits but the holster is about 1" too long. I do not have a 6" 22 auto. The safety strap is missing but can be replaced. It was a great holster for $20.

Les & Richard, a while back our Holstorian, Red Nichols, enlightened me
about the spring type holster that you both show. That style was first
made by Lewis, like mine shown below on the left. Then by Clark, like
the two that you show. Red even thought Lewis and Clark might have
been one and the same because they had the "too short" spring in common.
Then it progressed to Bucheimer-Clark who lengthened the spring,
such as in their Sheriff model, shown 2nd from left.
Friday carried his model 10 2" barrel in a clip on Lewis on Dragnet.
Malloy on Adam 12 carried his backup also in a Lewis clip-on.

No picture of holster and revolver but i am working on it. In the interim, here is front and back of my oldest holster. Milwaukee Saddlery, 1944.

How about vintage steel, aluminum, and leather? S&W Model 12-2 ('63), Tyler T-Grip ('60s), and a Clark 41 2 holster ('60s (best guess)) that has darkened with age. This was my daily carry until back and hip troubles forced me to carry something even lighter. When I get better Old School goes back to work.

Does vintage style count? Two for 5" N frames and one for a 6.5" N frame.

Back in the 1980s there was a lot of talk about modifying Police Revolvers to D A only because of an incident where a police officer somewhere was holding an armed suspect with his cocked and accidently tripped the trigger accidently killing his suspect. As a Police Firearms instructor I shot thousands of rounds every year and I never cocked a hammer on the range. Just to see how much trouble it would be to modify a S&W revolver to DA Only I had a Model 67 that I was not using so I handed it to my gunsmith and asked him to modify it to DA Only. A couple weeks later he handed me my model 67 with the modifications. It was DA Only, the square butt was rounded to round butt. the hammer was bobbed, there was a set screw in the trigger to prevent over travel and the DA trigger pull was very smooth and light. For shooting I loved the Pachmyre compact rubber grips which the revolver now wore. It would be perfect if we were required to go to DA Only. I did replace the wizzed main spring. I also needed a holster so I took my BIANCHI model #8 and cut back the strap and put on a new snap. The round butt wood grips look better

I don't know how I have neglected to put this holster in this thread. It has
become one of my favorites. My friend Red Nichols sent me an email about
a year and a half ago alerting me to a Eubanks holster, that as Red said
"has my name all over it".

I was a bit reluctant, because I generally only buy holster if I have a gun
that will fit. But it grew on me, so I entered the bidding. To my surprise
I won the bid for about sixty bucks.

It is a Mexican Loop style, floral carved and rawhide laced, Cordovan in
color, made by Eubanks. The gun that it was made for is Colt's Single
Action Cavalry model (7.5" barrel). I bought the Denix replica.

The Cordovan gun belt is by Texas Gunslinger. The silver Navajo
buckle was made by Nezzi. The knife and sheath are by Bear.
The hat is a Stetson Open Road.

I had a number of Lawrence Holsters but did not have any of their Challenger models which was a low cost holster to compete with the Hunter holsters. My good friend Tom sent me several. This one fits the S&W model 41 with the 5" light field barrel.

I haven't seen a lot of Myres laced holsters, but that is a nice one John.
Does it have a model number? 614, 624 or does the lacing make it a
different number?

My oldest Geo. Lawrence Co. STEERHIDE Portland, Ore. holster is this model 25 size 38 6" that has been cut years ago to be used for a 4" 38 M&P. The brass snap cover has the letters G L C o. in the circle in the center. My pre 10 nickel M&P 4" with Grashorns Gunworks Grips.

Happy I recently ran across this 1930s vintage Eubanks of Idaho latigo laced full flap for my 6" 1928 1905 M&P .

Still in great shape and works just as well now as it did when new.

Most of my holsters have been bought used but I found on an auction site this 1996 SAFARILAND Model 28 low silhouette new old stock holster which I won for a bid of 1/4 of the original retail price. Of course there was a auction fee, packaging fee, and shipping fee but the cost was a total of less than 1/2 the original retail cost. It is a great fit for my S&W 3913 9mm.

I have been told by several people that they could not wear a shoulder holster for 5 minutes but I do like a covered up shoulder holsters for carrying a big revolver or semi auto. This vintage Red Head 180 8 R works well with full size 1911or a 4" M&P revolver.

my favorite shoulder holster for years was this early 1970s SAFARILAND model 101 Shoulder holster which I got a lot of use out of but just a few years ago i noticed that the SAFARILAND Sight Track did not last. I believe that later Sight track material is better on later Safariland holsters.
