need another holster
I have a model 638 on it's way and I need a holster, I could carry it IWB OWB or pocket carry but I need a holster, I really can't afford much, but does anyone have a holster they can get rid of, or know where I can get a cheaper end one that will last a little while?

I have an Uncle Mike's IWB holster that works great for the price.

When you get the proper one for the 638, it rides a lot lower than the one in the picture. I wear mine all day at the 1 o'clock position with no issues.
I got mine at Gander Mtn, but have seen them in various places. I'm not sure if Wal Mart carries them.. never looked.

I think they make them left handed as well. If not, the stitching that holds the clip in place can be removed and switched to the other side. I've done this two times. I bought it for right handed, but then thought I wanted to carry at 6 o'clock, so I had to switch the side the clip was on so I could grab it properly. Then I decided I didn't like it there so I made it right handed again and carry it at 1 o'clock now.
But, like I said.. I believe they make them for either side.
Are you right or left handed?
If you plan on going for the gun on your left side with your right hand, youll want a right handed one anyway.

You can make a pocket holster out of duct tape and cardboard. Put some rubber bands on the outside to help keep in the pocket. I like the cardboard from Sponge Bob Cheez Its boxes. Otherwise a Desantis Nemesis costs about 20 and change, an Uncle Mikes pocket holster maybe a bit over ten bucks. A simple clip on suede type IWB holster for a J frame runs about five bucks plus shipping off Ebay.
