Can anyone tell me what this holster is called.Has anyone used one for carry.I need a concealed carry holster and kinda like the looks of it.

Ken, the main problem with that holster is you have to get on the ground lie on your side to get an upright draw. So that would slow you down a bit....

So it's not a good all purpose concealed holster then.Lee I mainly need it in the shop in case you know some one tries something.Sip what do you recommend for a 1911.I want something hidden and quick.

I tried one years ago. They hide the gun well, and draw well if you learn to fight the shirttail or coat covering it.
Trouble is, somebody says, "hey, jump in the car and let's go....."
If he didn't know you're packin before, he knows now, or you ride in a VERY uncomfortable position.

Inside, working a counter, I always kept a J frame in my right rear pocket. Sitting on a stool was no problem.

Another good place is Mexican style under your shirt, with the tail out.

A long, lightweight vest worked well for me, covering an pancake style holster. I wore this combo while working behind the counter at a pawn/gun shop. I was carrying an 1911 also.

The SOB isn't the best choice, in fact probably the last choice after the no holster trouser tuck. Hard to access, and a fall hazard if you fall on your keaster.

I personally like OWB holsters and prefer those made by Andrew's Custom Leather. They are boned to an exact fit and suede lined. Might take 6-9 months to deliver, but worth the wait to me.

What is it called? In my case, I'd call it "hard to reach".

My shoulders stiffen up too much for me to be certain I could grab it from there if needed quickly.

I thought about Mexican carry,but the weather here is simualar to Florida,Hot and humid in summer and I didn't want to sweat on the gun.Also when I work on the lathe or mill,on the bench and serving customers,I didn't want the gun getting in the way.It looks good on the pic but from what your telling me it's not an all purpose holster.The guns I have that I can carry are a 629 4 inch,586 or 686 4 inch and a 1911 5 inch.I picked the 1911 for concealability ( Thinner and more rounds).

Most holster manufacture will have an OWB of some sort that is designed for that purpose.

Previous replies are spot on. SOB holsters are quite unworkable, IMHO. They are unusable in many situations. e.g. ground fighting, grabbed from behind, on your back, etc.

I have found you can carry just about anything strong side, OWB. Just a loose shirt over it (or apron) and you know to be careful when working with machinery.

My absolute favorite of these designs was originated by Bruce Nelson(?) It has a tunnel loop behind the gun and an additional loop behind that. You thread your belt through a holster loop, under a trouser belt loop, then through the other holster loop. Its desighed to end up right over the trouser seam. Covers nicely with a long tee shirt. The holster then stays in exactly the same place at all times. Very comfortable for the 1911 and P220 / similar simis. Lobo makes a similar style which he calls the avenger.

The holster shown in the OP is actually a Italian made of decent quality 3 position holster SOB/Strong Side/and Crossdraw

I don't remember the name but I think the pic may be from their website if IRC

I had this and it was sold in a bag with Ziploc type top and was roughly $50 new

I sold it a a Funshow a few months back

We teach cops not to stick their handcuffs right in the middle of the small of the back... it looks cool on television, until you get into a tussle and a knocked to the ground or forced back against a hard surface and suffer a spinal injury! Directly over the spine is NOT a good place to put something hard and unyielding!
