Default Wtt 1917 .45 acp

***Trade in progress***

I’m looking to trade this nice original 1917 .45 ACP with US Army markings and lanyard. SN 79XXX dates to 1918.

Stocks number to the gun and are in nice condition. Bore is mirror bright. I’ve shot the gun a bit and it functions great.

Finish on the left side is very nice, on right side is mottled somewhat on the sideplate, see picture.

Looking for the following trades:
S&W Model 41
O/U shotguns (12 Ga.) from Browning, Beretta, Winchester
Stevens High Power lever gun
Sig 210
Savage Model 99 30-30
Maybe Performance Center Autos (9mm, 45)?
Don’t need an N-Frame .38 but always wanted one
You might pique my interest with a really interesting collectible .22 rifle of some sort

Ask if you want additional pics or have other questions. I'll say the trade value is $900 just to have a number to work from. We can go from there. Thanks

I have this listed on other forums.

Default 1917

Rufus,
Do you believe that to be the original finish ... or has that 1917 been reblued? The stocks are refinished, no?
Nice weapon in any case.

Buster,
I honestly don't know. The fellow I got it from said he had several "knowledgeable" folks look at it and tell him it was the original bluing, and I know him well enough to believe he wasn't jerking me around. It doesn't look like an obvious refinish to me, but I don't claim any expertise in that area. I also don't know what happened on the right sideplate to the finish, it's smooth, just discolored.

Would you consider selling it outright, and if so, what would you be asking for it?

Thanks.

I thought that pretty 1917 looked familiar. RufusG got it from me, and as best I can tell, it's the original finish. Like the seller, I'm not an expert, but I've seen a lot of good reblue jobs, and this one seems original. You can deal in confidence with RufusG. Bump for a fine old piece of history.
