|SOLD| One of a kind 629 Performance Center 6" --Maine
This is an interesting weapon. It might be the ultimate deer hunters setup. Below is what I believe the gun to be.
MODEL 629-4: THE CLASSIC HUNTER III Add to Collection
- .44 Mag. cal., 6 in. slab side barrel, integral variable weight system, Weaver scope mount rail system, Magna ported, non fluted chamfered cylinder, red ramp dovetail front sight, ser. no. prefix "LHK". Distributed by Lew Horton, 1996.
Last MSR was $1,234
No Lock. Performance Center ported. Appears to be factory test fired only, paperwork, case, very very light turn ring. Look at the case, the combination is still at factory "000".
If you would like any additional photos let me know. This is one very impressive hand cannon.
$1200.00 delivered and insured from my FFL to your's. This gun is also for sale locally.

Does this have the firing pin on the hammer? It's hard to tell for the plastic tie.

HI, great photos! On the view of the cylinder face, is that a ball and detent just under the ejector rod? I am not familiar with PC guns and that would be a great extra to consider.

Thanks on the photos. My case photos, not so good.
Showing my ignorance but what is the purpose of the "ball and detent just under the ejector rod"?

If that is indeed a ball and detent, I imagine it would be a way to more securely lock up the cylinder in the frame, like the old triple lock? I'm sure there are more experienced folks on this forum who could help with this question.

Ball detent is usually used instead of locking up at the end of the ejector rod. The advantage is that the gun won't tie up as easily if the ejector rod unscrews. Theoretically there is also less friction when the cylinder rotates.

That's it!
If you look at the photo 2 places below the one in question you can see that there is no lockup for the end of the ejector rod.
I'm selling this thing because I’m finding my self wanting to shoot it. I can hear it calling my name from the safe. You guys are not helping. LOL
Seriously, thanks for your input.

Is that a set of Blued weights that can be changed out with the stainless weights in the under lug?

They are blue but more importantly they weigh less. I think they are designed to allow you to customize the balance of the weapon to your own personal liking. Very cool.

I live in Maine, would you consider anything in trade towards it? Is there something specific you are looking for? Thanks

I would be interested in a Python in similar condition however; I guess I would say I’ll be willing to take “anything” in trade on a FTF deal.
