S&W 1911Sc 4.25" .45ACP scandium commander, shipped 07/04 and I am the original/only owner. Only 750 rounds through it, and like new -- no scuffs, blems, scratches, etc. Never carried, pretty much a safe queen with six or seven range visits. Flawless performer -- never a hitch. Comes with case, mags, manual, etc...everything it originally came with. Standard sights. I'm a picky buyer, so I tried six different SW1911Sc models when I was shopping for this model before choosing this particiular one -- the trigger is excellent, breaking cleanly and very crisply. The ugly orange'ish grips it came with were replaced by the $75 beautiful dark cocobolo grips you see in the pic below.
This is the "billboard" model (so named for the larger letting used before adopting the smaller (and, I think, more bland) lettering used currently in the PD models), the very first 1911 scadium commander S&W released before eventually discontinuing the Sc models and consolidating all their lightweight scandium models into the PD designation. Whether that makes this particular model collectible (now or potentially later), I've no idea...but I can't find a similar model on either Gunbroker or GunsAmerica, so it must comparitively scarce to some degree.
$800 shipped (using UPS insured overnight, which runs around $70). Interested parties can pm or email me through this site. Thanks for looking.
