SOLD to wordsmith!
I have for sale a 6˝” .44 Magnum (pre 29) that is in extremely nice condition. If not for a light turn line on the cylinder, a hint of muzzle wear only on the right side of the barrel, and a few very minor handling marks or scratches, this gun would qualify as 99% or better. Based on what I see I’d rate this gun in the 98+% condition. Six groove backstrap .
The finish is extremely bright and mirror like as to be expected on these early .44 Magnums.
The “coke bottle” grips are spectacular in color, and in perfect condition.
The case is in very nice original condition inside & out. The inside still has the original satin material and it has one torn area near where the rear sight rests when in the case.
In the six years I have owned this gun (formerly owned by Gary Garbrecht) I have never stored the gun in the case, nor have I stored the tools in the elastic band in order to preserve the interior of the case as well as the gun itself.
The gun shipped on June 26th 1956 to Richard Conover Hardware in Kansas City, KS. It is S/N S166413. As to be expected, everything number matches such as the barrel, the cylinder, and the extractor.
I have the Roy Jinks history letter and it will be included in the sale.
The price is $2900 including FedEx overnight shipping to C&R (this gun is C&R eligible) or FFL. Make sure if you request this gun be shipped to your FFL that he is willing to accept shipment from a C&R FFL holder.
The first to post “I’ll Take It” on the Forum followed up by a PM to me gets it.
