Gun is SOLD
Gentlemen:
This one has been in my safe for about 25 years now, and it needs a new home. Serial number 111643 which I calculate means it shipped around 1916, right in the midst of WW1.
The caliber marking on the barrel is .455 Eley. It has NOT been rechambered or otherwise modified making it a pretty scarce bird as so many of these old martial New Services were chopped up over the years. No import markings and no post war British commercial proof markings, again making it a scarce example because so many NS revolvers seen today have those undesirable features. The bore looks nice and shiney.
The 95 year old blue finish is worn but original. The upper left frame exhibits the British Broad Arrow property marking of the WW1 type with a small E below it indicating inspection at Enfield Arsenal. No unit markings or other markings on the back strap or butt.
I will ship via FedEx using a Doskocil pistol hard case to protect the gun. This gun is C+R qualified so I will ship to your FFL dealer or to you if you have a valid C+R FFL. Money order or certified funds, please. Price is $595 plus $35 to ship. 3-day non-firing inspection period.
Any questions? Please email me at
[email protected] and remove the NOSPAM reference.
This is a great, unaltered piece of Colt and military history. I hate to let it go but my collection is going in another direction these days. Thanks for looking.
Regards,
Charlie
