I have had this early model 64 no dash from the first couple of years they were made. I bought this one used, it does not have box or papers, and it WAS NOT a beat up police trade in. It has been used, but look at the pictures and you can see it is not a beater. There is a mark on the bottom of the trigger guard that you can see in the photo, and a smaller, lighter one on the back of the frame right behind the hammer that I took a photo of but it is not showing. The gun is 100% mechanically and this has been confirmed by a S&W armorer. The grips are the original grips for this gun, and while I have owned the gun, were carefully put away for the day when I was going to sell it.
These guns used to go in the 500 plus dollar range, but the economy has crushed everything, and this one is $425 SHIPPED to your FFL from mine.
