Both Sold - Please Close Add*S&W Model 29-5, .44 Magnum* *S&W Model 36, .38 Special*
In 1990, S&W decided to finally address the problems that were haunting the Model 29 for years. They decided to make the cylinder notches longer to prevent the bolt from jumping out of the notch upon recoil. They also reworked the innards of the Model 29 to provide a method of holding everything tightly together during firing. The end result was the Model 29-5 which has proven itself to be a workhorse over the years - you can fire those hot boomers all day long without worry on this one!
I bought this particular gun from a forum member several months ago and have since decided to move my collecting in another direction while still staying focused on the Model 29s. This gun has been fired, has a slight turn ring on the cylinder, and a few very slight handling marks here and there - nothing of concern however. Its difficult for me to rate the finish because I feel it is a very subjective measurement but, I would place it in the 97 - 98% range. It has a 6" barrel, no IL, and is not pinned or recessed as that was stopped with the 29-3. The cylinder has very little play and it locks up tight. The trigger pull in both SA and DA is sweet to say the least. The Hogue grips that were on the gun when I purchased it are of course not original. There is no box or paperwork - just the gun.
So here's the deal ~ I had this for sale several weeks ago here and then decided to take it to my local FFL for sale. It seems everyone that goes in there would rather buy "new" and I'm not sure if they realize this is a pre-lock gun. I'm not trying to "flip" this for a profit and I'm really not interested in any trades at this time. My price is firm at this time - $595.00 as pictured + $35.00 shipping from my FFL to your FFL. I will add a set of S&W targets for another $50.00 if so desired. I'm not a very good photographer but I have tried to represent it honestly. I can try and take better photos if necessary or a photo of a particular area if you wish. Low balling e-mails or PMs will be deleted immediately. You can contact me by PM here or via e-mail at [email protected] . The first posted "I'll take it" followed by a PM or e-mail gets it. Thanks for taking a look!

Here's an extremely well kept S&W model 36, .38 Special. The gun has a barely detectable turn line on the cylinder and is in excellent mechanical order. The original grips have a few very minor handling marks. Its a great piece that I only used for concealment now and then. If you would like additional pictures or have questions, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] . No box or papers - just the gun. $440.00 shipped from my FFL to your FFL.

Im guessing that the line on the side in the second pic is a smear.

A smear or from the flash. The finish is pretty much like new.
