Default TRADED: Colt 1877 Thunderer Made 1884!!!

Gone! thanks for looking!

Well I may regret it 50 years down the road but for right now I'm more interested in modern guns to shoot than collecting antiquities.

This is my Colt 1877 Thunderer made in 1884 with matching numbers, strong rifling, no rust or pitting, and a great patina while maintaining a strong amount of original bluing! Also included will be 50 unprimed cases Starline brass.

I'm interested in trades only right now but I'm not sure exactly what I want so make me an offer and we'll see what we can figure out if it suits us both!

Thanks for looking! More photos available upon request.

Jon Kaiser

P.S. This is an antique made pre-1899 so as my understanding of the law goes this does not need an FFL transfer. Correct me if I'm wrong here please.

you are correct, would be interested if it was a pre 1880 gun.

This gun is famous for being the Billy the Kid gun.

Assume it's in 41 LC?

My understanding is that Billy the Kid had a Lightning (same gun but smaller and in 38 long colt)

Lightning is a smaller cal. but not smaller gun, they are the exact same size on the outside.

Yes this is the 41 Long Colt. Billy the Kid favored the Lightning in 38 LC but it is rumored that Doc Holliday carried the Thunderer in 41 LC similar to this. Billy the Kid had small hands thus the bird's head style grips on the 1877 were a favorite of his.

the thunderer referred to the caliber thus being a .41

the names are as follows in the double action world of early 6 shooters.

and BTKs gun was the Thunderer

.32 Colt ('Rainmaker')
.38 Long Colt ('Lightning')
.41 Long Colt ('Thunderer')
