Default SPF: 4" 38-44 Heavy Duty

SPF This is a “shooter grade” 4 inch 38-44 Heavy Duty shipped from S&W in July, 1946. Price is SPF $500.00 SPF; buyer to pay actual shipping costs. This is a nice old revolver that’s a fun shooter as is or would be a great starting point for a custom or restoration.

First post here stating “I’ll take it” followed by PM or email will be the buyer!

The good news:
The numbers on the barrel, cylinder, yoke & ejector star match the serial number. The chambers will NOT accept .357 Magnum ammo. The revolver functions properly with no issues, the action is smooth and it shoots fine.

The bad news:
It has been refinished.
The sides of the hammer & trigger have been polished.
No original grips, it is wearing a set of Eagles (which actually look & feel pretty good).
There are numerous small dings, finish wear, light scratches and even a couple of tiny spots of surface rust.
There are larger dings on the left side of the recoil shield and yoke, as well as a “burr” along the top of the ejector rod recess in the barrel lug (these can be seen in the large version of the left side picture linked below)
Gun only, no box, etc., but will include a copy of the factory history letter.

I can meet for a sale in the Phoenix area. Otherwise must ship to FFL or C&R (will need a copy of license), please be sure your FFL will accept a firearm from a non-FFL. I will ship UPS next day / saver, insured for $500.00 and will be shipping from the UPS hub in Phoenix, AZ 85017 if you want to estimate what the shipping will be (I’m figuring 4lbs for the package weight). If shipping costs are less than estimated I will refund the difference. Payment via USPS money order only (cash OK for FTF deal )

Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking
