Default FS: S&W Model 36 circa 1963 (GA)

Up for sale today is a S&W Model 36 no dash with flat latch. This is the oldest gun I currently have, but since I do not shoot it...it's time to move it along to fund other desires.

Approximate year of manufacture is 1963 from what I have been able to gather. 6-digit, no letter serial number. No box or docs, but does have its original diamond grips, numbered to the gun. It's an all-steel gun, so +P ammo is not a problem for this little gun. In fact, it was built when +P ammo was about 15% hotter than today's standards. Mechanically...it's 100% sound with good bore and cylinder. I haven't shot it personally (too nice for me to shoot - I have other guns that I use for range time), but it operates completely as expected with a mechanical check.

As for its cosmetic condition, I would rate it about 90-92% conservatively. The grips are in good condition, not mint...but again they are original to this 49-year-old piece. The finish on the gun is very deep and glossy, save a few minor blemishes. There are a few hair line scratches here and there, a little holster wear, and it does have a slight turn ring. The worst of the blemishes are a pit on the cylinder (given the rest of the finish, I can't fathom how it got there) and a series of scratches across the serial number area on the butt of the grip frame. No...no one tried to obliterate the SN. My guess is that a previous owner had a Hogue Monogrip on this little guy...and the screw that secure the grip to the frame caused the scratches (seen this many times before). I tried to get a picture of the pit...but can't seem to get the lighting right to keep the glare from obscuring the pit.

As to price, terms and conditions:

Price is $450 or best reasonable offer. Buyer to pay actual shipping in addition to the agreed-upon price. Gun will ship from my FFL here in Georgia to the buyer's FFL unless buyer's FFL will accept shipment direct from a private party (I am NOT an FFL).

First "I'll take it" to be followed up with a PM gets the gun. Please limit negotiations to PM or e-mail. I have this listed on a local trading site as well, and reserve the right to withdraw it from here at any time.

And now for some pictures...thanks for looking!

I will be out of town Wednesday and Thursday this week on business, so if I don't respond before Friday - please don't take it personal. I will have only limited access to the internet until I return home.
