This is going to hurt. I'm going to sell this newly aquired gem for three reasons.
1. Someone is looking for one of these, and will appreciate it more than I will.
2. I picked up a J frame tonight I will carry more.
3. A gun that used to belong to my grandfather (Smith 29) just became available for purchase; and I'm bringing it back into the family.
So, here we go. This is a pre-model 40 Centennial "lemon squeezer". It is probably from the first year of production (1952) as the serial number is 399 (I am told these started at 100). The cylinder and stocks have the same serial number on them, it is as it should be. It does not have the little pin under the stocks to lock the safety however. I do not have a box or documents on the gun. It shoots very well. I ran 50 rounds through it yesterday and it functioned flawlessly.
As for the condition; it shows good honest wear, and a little bit of bad storage. I've done my best to take detailed/close up photos to tell the story. Please visit the photobucket link as well. If you need more pictures, I will be happy to send them to you or post them in the thread. Two photos will illustrate the two bad spots on the gun (I will point them out). Neither shows rust.
The gun will include a very newish Don Hume IWB holster as well.
I'm going to ask $550 (OBO) shipped FFL to FFL, $500 (OBO) for a local deal. If you feel this is too proud; by all means, make me an offer (hence the OBO's). ***SPF***
My only trade interest would be a Ruger Mini-30 Ranch Rifle in stainless/synthetic in awesome condition (my brother needs one of these and I'm nice like that). Thanks for looking.

This photo shows the worse spot on the gun. I imagine it was stored in a holster for too long; I don't know though.
This photo shows an area on the cylinder where the bluing is very thin. There is a tiny bit of what looks like old surface rust, more of a discoloration now. There is no pitting here and the camera makes it look worse than it is...which is fine by me.
