This gun was shipped (info.by R. Jinks) in August 1961. It is NOT Model-Marked, and is within 50 S/N's of a gun similarly described in Bill Cross's SWCA publication of "Early Model 29's". I purchased it as a Pre-29 and was a bit disappointed, since I already had one in the Black (blue) Leather box, and this would be another variation. This one was in a clam-shell box which were vintage 1959-61-62. The box was a mess, which disturbed me, since the gun was pristine (save for a minuscule area on the front sight (which probably wore due to it's existence in the "flocked" box). Be that as it may, a near perfect gun in a ****** box was something I could not fathom. I sent the box to Joe Cebull, who explained that the foam material in these clamshells simply disintegrated over time...the destruction was not due to wear. He refinished the box and. as expected from his excellence, all is perfect. The only thing that is not perfect is the original cotton swab, which I kept but replaced (the new one is smaller). I would entertain selling this gun for the right price. I am asking $2000.00....
