I've decided to sell my 1951 Pre-15. It is a great gun but has become a safe queen for me and it deserves someone who appreciates and shoots it more than I do. I am a home-based dealer though this is a personal gun.
The story behind this is I purchased it a few years ago from a retired Detroit police officer's widow. It was, for many years, a "sock drawer gun" as she called it. She was moving into a senior facility and no longer needed it.
---Shoots very well. Timing is excellent, endshake is good and barrel is in excellent condition.
---All original, I've never had any work done nor have done any myself. Total round count for me is about 200. Per the previous owner it went a long time without use. Grips are serialed to the gun.
---Letter from Roy Jinks is included (it is, of course, addressed to me). No original box or paperwork. Pistol will be shipped via USPS Priority with appropriate insurance in a new hard case.
---Gun is not pristine but is in lovely condition. I've taken great pains to photograph and highlight every example of wear in the photos, but please send a message if you'd like to see a different angle or close up of something in particular.
---Beyond normal wear there is no rust or pitting, however, there is some light speckling in the finish on one of the cylinder flutes (see photo). I can only guess, but it may have come from being laid on that side in the "drawer".
---Price is $525 including shipping to your FFL. At that price credit cards are also accepted with no fee. Payment is by any method convenient, however, funds must clear my bank prior to shipping.
---For Michigan residents local pickup can be arranged.
---Not interested in any trades at this time. First "I'll take it" along with a PM/email gets it.
