SOLD SOLD SOLD/King-modified K-22 w/ grips by John Hurst
I bought this gun out of California years ago. AT the time,I didn't realize that the grips were made by John Hurst. Had I known,I would have asked the seller if there was any direct connection to him. I can only surmise. The gun has a King red-post reflector front sight and is so marked. It also has a cockeyed hammer which is unmarked. The rear sight appears to me to be factory. The finish has some odd finish loss on both sides of the barrel, spots of missing blue. Doesn't appear to be holster wear, although there is a little of that as well.. Don't know what might have caused it. A few scattered handling marks as well. The grips are in excellent condition with a small amount of indentation from ejected cartridges. This will steam out I'm sure. The serial number is K 570xx,which indicates a mfg date of 1948. I am pricing it at $795 shipped due to the desireable features it has. CONUS. First "I'll take it".etc.,etc.
p.s. A few words about John Hurst by forum member OIF2 who knew the man personally.
Hey Alex. Unlike Farrants,no frame modification was required.

Edited to add that both Farrant and Hurst (I will assume Hogue and Stark also) made grips both ways. Reason being that duty weapons could not be modified. Thanks to a forum member for this info.
