Here is a Colt New Navy Model, and it is an early Civilian Model, MODEL OF 1892. See BOB BEST's BOOK for Clarification! Those in this serial number range, were produced from December 1892 to June 1894. (Serial numbers 5001 to 5005, and 10,001 to 12,xxx). This one is in 80% + condition -- I would rate it higher except the cylinder is not as bright and crisp as the rest of the gun. 6 inch barrel in .38 Long Colt. There may be a timing issue, as the cylinder spins to the left without locking in place. Grips are in great shape, fading to brown, with little evidence of wear. This is an EARLY Civilian gun, number 10,066, in excellent condition for its age. You don't find them like this anymore! Contains a 2-line barrel address, which reads, as follows:
COLT'S PT F A MFG CO HARTFORD CT U.S.A.
PATENTED AUG 5th 1884 NOVEMBER 6th 1888
Will ship to you for $25. Priced at $595. Can ship directly to you as this one is pre-1899. E-mail me if you want more photos or have any questions.
