Paring down my collection, so I offer my Yost Bonitz 1911A1 .45 Springfield Armory. I am the third owner.
The gun itself was built sometime in the early 2000s. The goal of this package was the to provide the shooter with all the necessary modifications for a defensive 1911, with no frills, at a reasonable cost, ready to go. Yost Bonitz split up, and neither builder now provides a gun like this.
Mods include:
- Novak sights dovetailed into the slide
- Reliability work, including throated barrel, polished feed ramp, Wilson extractor
- Trigger job with tool steel sear, bobbed and undercut hammer
- speed safety
- beveled magazine well
- tool steel slide stop
- complete dehorning of gun, with particular attention to the grip safety and frame edges
- flat serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop
- serrated front strap
- fitted barrel bushing and recrowned muzzle
- refinish in a matte blue
One of the previous owners sent the slide to Novak's for night sights in 2005. I removed the rear night sight (included with gun) for a plain black, wide notch version. The front sight still has some glow left to it.
I installed VZ double diamond checkered grips. I also installed new springs.
This is a used gun, with unknown total round count. There is some bluing wear, but it is a strong 85% or so. Shoots hardball very well for a non-accurized gun.
There are hard to find, and have a kind of underground "retro" cool to them. Very low profile in this world of custom 1911s.
Comes with two magazines, and the original 1* gun rug.
Asking $1,600.00 shipped to your dealer, paid by certified funds unless we have done business in the past. They must accept guns from non-dealers, and will not ship to CA or any other state where prohibited. Please don't ask or offer some way to get around this. Not really looking for any trades, but you can certainly ask via IM. The worst I can say is, "No thanks".
