Default *Mint 1968 SW 27-2 3" w/box & Sambar Stags

SOLD

**PLEASE READ - EDITED for clarification and posting error:

Photos show a Tyler T-Grip. These are older photos and the T-grip is actually a J-frame T-grip NOT INCLUDED with the 27-2. I planned to purchase one and wanted to see how it would look. I HAVE NEW PHOTOS TO SEND TO SERIOUS POTENTIAL BUYERS ONLY - *please provide a direct email or text.

Also, the wood box is not an S&W presentation box but a generic one. The gun will come with an original S&W blue box stamped correctly for a blue 27-2 3.5" gun. The serial # on box it will come with is for an earlier #'d 27-2 3.5" gun. I purchased the box last week essentially for the next owner as I knew what price I was listing the gun for and felt the box would be fitting and the buyer could expect a nice complete package. In fact, I found the box posted for sale in the "Guns & Accessories" section of this site - I sent the seller a money order for it yesterday (1/29/16) and will not have ownership of it until next week sometime (I hope!). I planned to hold the posting for my M27 until the box arrived but I jumped the gun. The wood box nice but not high quality. It is not a deal breaker, only cost me about $20. I'd prefer to keep it for my j-frame but add $10 and I'll include it. Or, just insist and I'll include if I must. Thank you.

One last thing: I've been asked about the gun having a re-bluing job. I myself was very concerned about that and what I was getting before I proceeded when I purchased the firearm. It took me three days of researching and bringing in knowledgeable gun enthusiasts (not experts by any means). I've taken it to two other LGS's and several gun show vendor friends and no one can deny it being original. My reputable LGS purchased it as if original and un-fired and I purchased it confident it was the same. I sold a Dan Wesson Heritage and a SW 686 to fund this purchase when I bought it. As long as it is in my possession it is the original finish. I took one of the grip panels off to show the finish under grip.

What: SW 3.5" model 27-2 serial # S313XXX (late 1968).
Description: Comes with an original blue box to the year (no papers) but serial on box does not match serial # on gun. the box is worn but the gun is mint. The finish is deep glossy blue 98%-99% with no handling or wear marks. The cylinder has an ever so light ring that is no more noticeable than a new display model. I do not have the original grips but the Sambar grips are beautiful and have attained a nice patina that really adds a unique personal touch for the owner. I was contacted by my LGS when the gun was brought in by a local known & respected collector and I purchased it before it ever made the display case. It was sold to me as an unfired gun and I could not find evidence to argue. As a treat to me this past new years (2016) I fired exactly 1 round into the wooded ravine in my backyard at midnight.
Why Selling: I'm not a collector as much as I'm an accumulator of nice "shooters". I can shoot less expensive 686's with simliar enjoyment and leave this collectible to another appreciative collector. I know what it's like to own this and it's great! Time to move on.
Price: $1350 shipped. I'm not interested in trades as I have other nice SW's and all I need. I will use money when the next "must have" comes along. Right now the cash is security for that next "must have" - thank you.

*If photos are not uploaded when this posts I will send direct to your email if interested.
