For sale is a very nice WWII, Walther P38 in 9mm, the iconic DA pistol that inspired S&W to build the Model 39. This gun was brought back to the Borough of Queens in New York City as a war souvenir from the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. The original document allowing this transfer is included in the package. I also have the Army Veteran’s name, address, Army serial number, employment, education, etc., but in the interest of privacy I will not post it here, as there is a chance he may still be living. However, that information will go with the gun.
This is an excellent example of a late WWII P38, manufactured in 1944 (AC44) near the end of the war when not much effort was put into the finish of the gun. The Bakelite grips are in excellent condition. The serial number is 1058 and has all matching numbers. It was made in Zella Mehlis and has the Nazi Proof on the magazine (eagle over WaA135) indicating a Mauser made magazine. The Nazi proofs are on the slide in three places and also on the frame above the trigger. Also included in the package is a Nazi made P38 holster (bla 44 with eagle over WaA159). This holster is in good condition but one of the belt straps is loose and needs reattached. The Nazi soldier’s name (Tormen) is written on the inside.
I have had this gun for 20 years. I have only shot it one time when my son and I put a box of 50 rounds through it about two years ago. Its performance was flawless and accurate. This sale includes gun, one magazine, “Bring Back” certificate, holster and original American GI history. $950.00. Gun will ship from my FFL to your FFL. I will cover FFL fees from my side. Buyer pays shipping TBD. I will accept USPS money order or personal check that will need to clear before shipment. Feel free to PM me with your questions and I will be happy to contact you by phone or email. I'm not interested in trades, but I will travel in NM for FTF meetings. I noticed that I forgot to take a full picture of the right side but it is totally consistent with the rest of the gun.
