Default Collectors…Stone Mint S&W Model 52 with box Serial number 50002

This is a rare opportunity for someone to own one of the earliest factory S&W model 52’s. It is serial number 50002. All the gun history books say that in 1961 Smith started the numbering of their new model 52 pistol at 50000. I am not sure if that would mean that 50000 is the number of the first pistol or if they mean that the very first model 52 would be number 50001. Either way, this pistol would either be the 3rd or 2nd pistol produced. History says only 90 pistols were produced during that first year in 1961. The S&W box is in mint condition and contains only a piece of cardboard and a piece of “waxed” paper that is marked Smith & Wesson. The pistol is in as close to 100% as I have seen and I have owned a half dozen model 52’s. They are usually shot a lot and over the past 30 years my 52-1 has become one of my favorite pistols. This model 52 has maybe been fired. I would like to say it is unfired but the original owner is not around to testify to that fact. I have owed it quite awhile and have never fired it or even racked the slide. If it has been fired, it is very, very little. The mags show almost no wear. 3 mags are included. I have seen some pretty nice boxed model 52’s going for $1600 to $2000 at shows lately and here you have an opportunity to own one with some real honest to goodness history for just a little more money. If you have questions EMAIL me and I will be glad to try to answer them. If I cannot answer, maybe someone on the forum will be able to help me. I will need an FFL from your local dealer and payment in the form of a money order or a bank cashier’s check. The price is $3350 plus $60 for shipping and insurance.
