** SOLD! **
I have the following 44 Magnum for sale in the Franklin, TN area. This is a pre-model 29 revolver that shipped from the factory in May of 1957. It is in high condition (95%+) and appears to be in proper working condition (but am not a gunsmith, and have not fired it, so have it checked out). Can send more pictures via text or email. No indication of rework or refinish (no surprises on the grip frame). Coke stocks are in great shape.
Pre-model 29 with 6 1/2 inch barrel, four screw frame, bright blue finish, serial S1706xx, shipped in March 1957, with an overall nice finish (around 95%) and shows well from a foot away. As you get up close you will notice that a previous owner probably was too aggressive while cleaning the gun. There are a couple of cylinder flutes that are discolored along with the very tip of the barrel on both sides. There is some cloudiness in the finish on the frame near the cylinder release and the side plate. The trigger guard has some scratches that are deep enough that you can feel them with your finger nail as you rub against them. And there is slight wear to the high points of the cylinder and frame. However, all of this requires close examination in good lighting. If I showed you the revolver and you held it at arms length you would probably not notice much if any of these imperfections. But as a collector, I would rate it around 95% that shows very well. The Coke stocks are in excellent condition and the case colors on the hammer and trigger are dark yet distinct. This gun shipped in May of 1957 according to Roy. The price is
$1950 now $1750 shipped.
