Your chance to own a piece of U.S. Indian War Cavalry History that no doubt saw use on the frontier and was shipped July 12th, 1875 according to Roy Jinks – All 1st models were shipped the same date. This was Roy's response when asked for a ship date on a 1st Model US Schofield:
"The shipping date for all the first Model Schofield's is July 12, 1875. That is the date the company billed the government."
This is an investment that can only go up in value and add tremendously to any serious S&W and/or military collection.
I am offering this to those of you on the SWCA forum first for a limited time and if none of you grab this amazing piece of firearms history, it will then be listed on an online auction. Besides....when is the last time you saw an original Schofield offered up for sale on this forum!!!
This is an original condition 1st Model U.S. Schofield Revolver S/N 2753 which still retains a fair amount of it's original finish. All numbers match, including the stocks. They cartouche on the stocks is faint but visible. The action functions as it should and has no issues. There is no hammer "push-off" and the cylinder locks up on each notch as it's supposed to. I personally have not fired this revolver, but I would not hesitate to do so with the proper loads.
The bore and chambers of the cylinder are in good condition with no major issues. The rifling is still present but the bore is frosted with rough areas. Keep in mind this revolver was shipped in 1875 so that makes it 142 years old and it was shot with black powder rounds.
Included in the asking price is a complete original leather package including the correct Schofield 2-Hole holster, leather belt with buckle and cartridge pouch. All are authentic items.
My price on the complete package is $7,550 including shipping and since this is an antique it can be shipped right to you directly, no FFL required.
Based on my discussions with knowledgeable S&W collectors and some reputable dealers I feel my price is where it should be given today's market. That said, I am open to a REASONABLE offer on this one......and may consider a part trade of a pre-war .44 Special or .357 Magnum HE so dig through your safe and maybe we can work something out on this fine revolver.
