I've got a revolver that I would really like to trade (+/- cash) for something better suited to my needs. I'm located primarily in California, so I'm stuck needing to find someone relatively local to the SF Bay Area at this point. That is going to limit my ability to do a trade with many of you on this forum. I'm hoping that someone fairly local to me stumbles across this ad and we can come to an agreement of some kind.

I've got a really nice little Model 29-4. It has the round butt frame, the short 3 inch full underlug barrel and the unfluted cylinder. This model was marketed as a special run to the backpacker crowd back in 1989. It was a run of only 2532 guns made for RSR Distributors under the product code 101251. This little thing is a joy to carry, and it can really pack a punch. The 29-4 had improvements to the cylinder and frame that made it stronger than the previous models, and this was the first Model 29 with the round butt frame. Currently, I have a nice set of Kim Ahrends round butt finger grooved combat grips on the revolver that really fit my hand great. I also have the original Pachmayr grips as well if you prefer the feel of rubber.

This revolver is in great shape and it will include the original box and the original grips. The pictures should honestly show the overall condition of the gun. Send me a PM with a text number and I'll send out more pictures to you. Anything that looks like a scratch or a scuff in the picture is really just lighting. This thing is hard to photograph with the super deep blue finish on the gun.

This gun is just rare enough to be fairly collectable at this point, especially here in California. It is so clean that it should be in someone's collection rather than in my holster. I'd prefer something in stainless for my application, or maybe something just a littler rougher and less collectable. I find myself shooting the specials more than the magnums these days anyway. I'm mostly interested in a trade if you have a 3" Model 624 or a 4" Model 24, but I'd consider other .44 special Smith & Wesson or Colt SAA.
