For sale is an S&W Model 46 in .22 LR. Ser# 96298. This pistol is in excellent overall (98%+ condition and is 100% correct and original). This model is pretty rare with only 4,000 being made in total production and of those, 2,500 were made in this configuration (7” barrel). These pistols were made between 1959 and 1968. This serial number being a very high one, it was most likely made in 1968 (which makes it C&R eligible). These were made for Military marksmanship training and civilian sales. I have seen pictures of these in unit’s armories. Still has the original Nylon grips which are very rare to find “in the wild”, and are priced as much as the gun sometimes when found. Original box with serial numbered end label. Original barrel weight (no screw BUT Numrich has a repro for $6.85 and in stock). One magazine. No owner’s manual (but there is an original on Evilbay right now for $50). Pictures should show EVERY detail and aspect of the gun and box. Just a beautiful piece!
