Moving sale. For sale are a few used S&W's. Prices including shipping from FFL to FFL unless not required because of age of gun. Please post an "I'll take it" followed by a PM. Of course, forum rules apply. If you are purchasing discreetly after the obligatory 24 hour period has passed, then please send me a PM stating "I'll take it." I'll accept various forms of payment so just let me know what you would like to do. I'm sorry, but I am unable to do any trades on these pistols.
As for condition please refer to the pictures and read the brief descriptions. I simply don't do percentages on finish because opinions can vary, so please see the attached links to the albums with lots of high quality pictures. Thank you for looking and please let me know if you have questions, especially before committing to buy.
Each gun will have a couple pictures posted in the thread as well as a link to an album with many more pictures to review. PLEASE SEE PICS IN ALBUMS TO REACH YOUR OWN OPINION ON CONDITION.

1. SOLD S&W 29-2 4 inch barrel with S prefix serial number. Per Roy, this gun shipped in October of 1965. It is not lettered. This gun shows various signs of use, but is what I would consider very good shooter grade condition. Gun functions well with some very minor stickiness in the cylinder release latch. Notice the "SMITH & WESSON" on the left side of the barrel, this is the factory style used for a very short period inbetween the earlier lazier writing and the more modern style. Grips are not original and are likely a bit later vintage. However, the grips are Goncalo and with some refinishing could like very nice. I bought this gun several years ago in Mountain Home Idaho. It was likely pawned by someone passing through while stationed there at the Air Force base, but may have some original Idaho heritage. These 4 inch S prefixed 29-2's from this period are fairly uncommon. Price: $965 delivered. SOLD to TooManyChoices
2. S&W 581 4 inch in factory nickel. Thought about turning this one into a reverse pinto, but I have enough projects already. This is also a somewhat rare gun based on the finish. The finish would be excellent if it wasn't for some severe flaking of the nickel on just one side of the cylinder near the turn line (see best pics in above album). The grips are also not perfect but could be easily made to look new with some refinishing. One of these new in box recently sold on gunbroker for $1400, here's a link to the closed auction:

Get this one for almost half the price: $735. REDUCED to $675. BEST PRICE: $595 delivered.
3. SOLD S&W 44 HE 2nd Model 6.5inch barrel with what I believe is factory nickel. Not much to say about this gun, a pretty cool gun that functions flawlessly but has major finish issues. Might be a great gun for someone needing another project or jsut needs a shooter. Like I said already though, I have plenty of projects. Per Roy, gun shipped in September 1927. Grips are not original to the gun, could use some recheckering, but should be period correct. Price: $575. SOLD
4. SOLD S&W 12-2 M&P Airweight in factory Pinto with letter. This gun was bought at the Annual SWCA symposium several years ago in Boise. Not a common gun to see in Pinto finish so very rare in this configuration. However, the gun has condition issues with various areas of wear. Now don't buy the story, but it was speculated by Roy himself that this gun shipped fairly late for it's model, which may have meant it stayed in factory inventory for quite awhile after manufacture. This is mentioned in the letter. The part of the story that is not authenticated is that the condition issues may have been due to a fire at the S&W building where this gun may have been displayed to show potential customers the Pinto finish option. But as they say, buy the gun, not the story. Anyway, see the pics as they will show the various condition issues. All parts are original, except the grips. The grips are what I believe are factory Rosewood or Goncalo. It does come with a factory letter, a correct box with some paperwork, but not what I believe is the actual box. Price is exactly what I paid for it several years ago plus cost of shipping. Price: $725. SOLD to BillsCamino
5. SOLD S&W 39-2 smei-auto is very good condition. This gun is great shape with mostly just signs of wear from storing and some minor use. Functions great and would be a perfect gun to carry without worry about functionality or decreasing the value. Price: $395. SOLD to mmande
Thanks for looking.
