Offering fror sale one of my 3rd model 44s with 4" barrel. This gun shipped in April, 1940, to Oshman's in Houston, Texas. This gun is all matching incluiding the pre-war magna grips. However, the finish is NOT original--it shipped in blue but refinshed (not factory) in nickel with gold washed hammer and trigger. The gold wash, however, is almost all warn off. This is probably a Texas LE's BBQ gun but I have no provenance. The gun is lettered but I have not done a SWHF search to see if there is any additional info.
When it was refinished there appears to have been very little buffing done as there are signs of pitting. The good news is that the roll marks are excellent. The finish is pretty decent however there is some frosting under the grips and along the underside. I have not done any polishing. WSYWYG. I'm posting 14 pictures plus the letter. Mechanically, the gun is tight with no push off and little end or rotational play. I have not fired it but would not hesitate to do so.
Please ask any questions befor posting. All forum rules apply. First "iIll take it... etc." Price is $1250 shipped ConUS. Sold only where legal C&R eligible. 3 Day non firing non disassembly inspection. However if returned buyer pays shipping both ways.
