Hoody is a scammer. He cheated one of our members out of $150 in February and it wasn't reported to us.
Apparently, the same scumbag came back recently with a different email and registered as drwilks. It seems he just took another member for $600.
He goes by the name of Jack Springer on Paypal, but went by Austin Springer in his emails.
[email protected]
His current phone number is: 540-686-1622
Past phone #: 903-420-1088
The $600 scam was paid with Paypal Friends and Family per the crook's request, so there's no buyer protection. DO NOT try to work the system and use Paypal Friends and Family for purchases, it's not worth the risk. The extra few dollars as a sale are well worth the safeguards it provides.
If you suspect a scam, LET US KNOW.
If you've been cheated or backed out of a sale because it seems fishy, LET US KNOW. You can PM any of the staff or use the report post key in the top right of the post.
We do what we can to keep the board safe, but we need your help. Be careful when dealing with new members or members with low post counts.
This is a good read: How to NOT get Scammed

Unless Paypal has changed their policy, firearm purchases are not allowed and you have no protection even if you use normal Paypal rather than F&F.

That’s my understanding as well...
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Firearm accessories should be OK paying with PayPal. Guns, NO.
If you’re dealing with an established member who has multiple sales and plenty of good feedback and you have the same background, pay by USPS MO or personal check.
We hate to see our members cheated.
When dealing with a new member and either party is concerned, arrange transfer between FFL’s and verify their status.
FFLeZCheck 3.1.2 - Federal Firearms License Search
Send payment to the dealer shipping the gun and insure that the correct gun is received and is as represented, before the funds are released and the gun is shipped.

Paypal policy on firearms/parts...
Quote:
We don’t allow PayPal members to buy or sell any kind of firearm, whether it’s in working order or not. The same goes for certain firearm parts and ammunition.
For example, using PayPal, you can’t buy or sell:
Any firearm, including rifles, shotguns, and handguns, whether they’re for sport and recreation, collectibles, or curio or relic firearms.
Firearm parts, including but not limited to receivers and frames, silencers, and kits designed to modify guns so that they fire automatically. High capacity magazines, multi-burst trigger activators, and camouflaging firearm containers are other items in this category.
Ammunition, including propellants like gunpowder or blank ammunition; ammunition or cartridge cases; and primers, bullets, or propellant powder designed for any firearm.
Stun gun sales are allowed for U.S. residents, but only if the transaction is permitted by law in both the buyer's and seller's jurisdictions. (PayPal account holders outside the U.S. can’t buy or sell stun guns.) Before they complete a sale, U.S. sellers must make sure that the transaction is legal in both locations.
Related items that you can buy and sell using PayPal include paintball guns, blank guns, and air-soft guns, as long as such transactions are legal in the applicable jurisdiction. All of these items must display the markings required by law, must not be convertible to shoot a lethal projectile, and can’t include blank ammunition.

And if they find out, they will lock your account permanently with no appeal and tie up your money in their hands (if any) for 6 months. And it's not just for firearms & ammo. Hi-cap mags and many other parts are banned as well (although they will not tell you which ones in advance).

This is a SCAM Warning - not a PayPal debate!

S&wchad, thanks much for posting and for the link. It seems like the police or better yet the ATF would pursue gun fraud cases?
