BOTH RIFLES HAVE BEEN SOLD
As part of my continuing effort to raise funds for the medical bills of a dog and a wolfdog who both have cancer and will be undergoing surgery and/or whatever other treatment options are necessary, I'm putting another rifle from my collection up for sale.
UPDATE 10/2 - THE KAR98A HAS BEEN SOLD.*************
This one is a WW1 German Kar98a rifle, made at the Prussian Erfurt Arsenal in 1918.
This one has a beautiful bright and shiny bore with sharp rifling. Wood and metal are all in real nice, clean, damage-free condition.
The stock, handguard, rear barrel band, and bayonet lug do not match the rifle's serial number. The bolt does not match the rifle, but is all matching to itself. The rear triggerguard screw is not numbered.
The magazine floorplate, triggerguard, front triggerguard screw, front band, stacking hook, buttplate, bolt release/ejector box, magazine follower, rear sight leaf and spring, and front sight are all matching to the rifle.
All the original markings on the wood are clear and sharp, no 1920 date on stock or receiver, no import marks of any kind.
Overall it's just a very nice, straight, clean, presentable rifle in correct original WW1 configuration that would be great for a shooter, re-enacting, or historical display rifle. I have never fired it, so can not say how it shoots, but with the clean, sharp, and bright bore, and tight muzzle, it should be a good shooter.
Price is $800 + shipping. (SOLD)
The photos posted here are the best I can get with my pitiful little camera.
Cash, check, or money order are all fine, NO PAYPAL.
C&R friendly, if someone is the Southern California area and has the correct papers, we can do "cash and carry", otherwise Private Party Transfer can be done at West Coast Ammo and Guns in Temecula, or at Brass and Bass or The Shootist in Murrieta. I really prefer not to use the Turners in Temecula for PPT, as they tend to be real annoying, time-wasting, dicks about doing PPT's.
First definite and "I'll take it" to my EMAIL at
vonweigert(at)earthlink.net gets it.
