I have decided to sell off some of my collection. I just don't have time to enjoy them all. Would prefer a local sale but I am willing to ship this, FFL to FFL, at buyer's expense.

I'm offering a Springfield Stainless Mil-Spec Model 1911-A1 that has had some custom work done by Joe Cominolli. Mr. Cominolli has been a member of the American Pistolsmith's Guild since 1989 and has been a member of the "American Handgunner Club 100 Pistolsmiths" since 1994. He specializes in 1911s.

I special ordered the gun brand new, many years ago, from Ra-Lin's Sporting Goods in Syracuse, N.Y. and immediately delivered it to Mr. Cominolli. He removed the original mainspring housing and fitted a brand new Strayer-Voigt Infinity flat, checkered, stainless mainspring housing. He also fitted a brand new three hole, adjustable, aluminum trigger. The original grip screws were replaced with Wilson Combat stainless Allen head grip screws. The gun currently has exhibition grade English Walnut grips by Kurac. They are stunning. Depending on the deal made, those may or may not go with the gun. I also have a new set of handcrafted Eagle Grips "double diamond" checkered grips. Rosewood, if my memory is correct. Either way, it's a very handsome firearm. I have the original blue plastic case and all the goodies that it came with....two mags, plastic belt-slide holster, mag holster, original Springfield grips, cleaning rod.

I have taken this gun to the range once just to try it out and that was many years ago. It performed flawlessly. Excellent condition. A couple of very minor handling marks on the top of the slide. Gun has lived 99.9% of its life in the case.

Edit....a forum member asked me if I had "paper work" to prove that Mr. Cominolli did the work on this firearm. I do not. It was many years ago. But, if that's a deal breaker, I will contact Mr. Cominolli and ask for duplicate "paper work".
