Default Withdrawn: 1962 S&W 29-1

For sale is my 1962 Smith and Wesson Model 29-1 with the 6.5” barrel. As verified by the S&W Historical Foundation Historian Roy Jinks, she was shipped from the factory on 09/26/62 to Wisler Western Arms Co, San Francisco, CA. Records indicate she was shipped with a 6.5-inch barrel, red ramp front sight, white outline rear sight, target hammer, target trigger, blue finish and Goncalo Alves target grips.

As most S&W connoisseurs know, this is a rather rare revolver with less than 50 of these -1 variants being identified overtime. The exact number produced in the -1 variation is unknown.

The handgun will be shipped in a padded handgun case with the presentation box in the same shipping box. The factory presentation case is not original to the gun, but the box and tools are period correct. The lining of the case has been professionally refinished. The coke bottle grips may have been refinished at some point, but I can’t confirm. The checkering is still sharp, but the edges of the grips are smooth. This gun has been fired and carried. There is some muzzle wear on both sides most likely from a holster and the right-side plate has some scratches and I’m speculating it’s from a holster snap. There is also high edge wear. I’ve supplied pictures in various lighting conditions so there are no surprises. The mechanics feel brand new and are super tight and the bore/crown are perfect. This 59-year-old handgun is tighter than my brand new 2020 Colt Python. The letter from the S&W Historical Foundation is included.

The price is $3,250 including insured shipping to the lower 48. This revolver is a C&R so I will ship to anyone with a 01/03 FFL. I’m willing to ship anywhere in the USA, even California, Maryland and Massachusetts if it’s on their respective approved list. I'm a 01 FFL and plan on sending the firearm USPS priority/insured. The buyer gets a three-day, non-firing, non-disassembly inspection period from the time you or your FFL received the revolver. This inspection period only covers issues that were not noted in the written description or shown in the pictures. The buyer would have to pay for the return/insured shipping. There are enough pictures provided so there will be no surprises. I have fired 12 rounds through this pistol and she functions and shoots just fine. Payment in the form of Certified bank/cashiers check or multiple USPS money orders. The first “I’ll take it” followed by a PM gets her. While I don’t have a lot of posts here, I sell regularly on Gunbroker with the name "tazaroo" with over 150 positive feedbacks with no negative. Thanks to Dan at Sarah15 guns for some of his old pics of the handgun.

Feel free to make a respectable offer.
