Default Colt SF VI for trade

I have a very nice Colt matte stainless snubby in box to trade for a three inch 625 45Colt or maybe a three inch 624. I would really prefer the 45Colt caliber but the 44special is also attractive.

TRADE PENDING...Thank you to all who participated.

Do you want a S&W 625 in 45 acp, or 45 long colt? And is your Colt in the original box with docs? Thanks, I am considering it.

Default Hello...

Thank you for your interest.
I would prefer the venerable 45 Colt.
I do indeed have the small blue hard plastic case and manual.
I don't have the cardboard shipper.
If it has any appeal to you,the serial number,is a low three digit. (182)

Thanks again.

I can be reached at my email....rusty.sparksATyahooDOTcom

I'd like first crack at this if you decide to sell.

I watched one sell for $850.00 last week and there is currently one with a bid at $895.00 on "that GB auction site" right now.
I would really rather trade value for value than sell outright. That empty space in the safe just bothers me somehow.

Just a teaser...I have a couple of third generation dick specials that don't even compare with the Mark actions. The action on this Colt is slick as butter. And IIRC.it is +P rated?

OK, pardon me, but I'm just wondering why the SF-VI is so valuable? (Maybe I need to go look for a Colt collector's website...)

I've got one in the Performance Center hardcase with my F-Comp. I figure they are a perfect companion pair, since they use the same speed loaders... I just had no idea the SF-VI was worth so much?

Default Don't know if they're "worth"...

The prices they are bringing or not. I have to assume they are worth it to the folks that are buying them.
The matte finish SF VI was a short run by Colt and they ain't making em anymore.
I sold a four inch Anaconda 45 Colt on that auction site about a year ago for $3500.00.
Buyer seemed to think it was worth it and left me some outstanding feedback.

Anyway,I'm not asking for $900.00,for my little snubby.I'm trying to trade a somewhat scarce Colt snubby for a like N frame Smith snubby. The N frame snubs seem to be bringing 700 to 900 also. Are they really worth that much?

Default Colt SFVI

Simply put....Supply and demand.
The Colt SF VI was a last ditch effort by Colt to stay in the revolver game .
In the end they gave up and the little SFVI, the Special Lady and .357 version (Det2?) were the last litttle revolvers Colt made.
Not much of a Swan Song but to the purist collector they represent holes in their collection that must be filled.
As they did not make a huge splash in the brief period they were sold not many are out there.
What few remain, well lets just say most are either in pitiful shape or the deepest bowels of some collectors safe.
When they do pop up they easily sell for $950.00.
Is it any surprise when the Python .22 sells at $1600.00? The new Smith "classics are listed near the $1000.00 mark and not true copies.
It is what it is and frankly I dont think much of them as a firearm,
They have the lightest trigger of any Colt, so light that the trigger often does not reset when rapid firing and Colt had to include free service return information for those unsatisfied owners that wanted heavier triggers.
It is a 6 shot 38 no frills stainless revovler.
But...... its rare, its collectable and to the followers of the rampant pony.....its a Colt .
