Have had this gun about 5 years, shot it once. It comes as you can see with all or nearly all of the original paperwork, including original wax paper and the original warranty card filled out by the guy that bought it in Norfolk VA in 1973. Neat stuff

I think $375 is a fair price. For now... I would like to try to sell this locally to avoid all of the shipping mess. I am in the Norfolk VA beach area.

First "I'll take it wins" if you are a Va resident and can do a face to face.

At this time, I am trying to clear some funds up for a purchase of a new RBL shotgun, so while normally I would love to talk trades, for now, I would like a plain old sale.

Shipping it is not a real problem. You have to ship to an FFL license holder. I'll send you a copy of the FFL and address to send it to, along with USPS money order of $425 to ship the gun via Fedex or UPS overnight as is required by law.
Then provide you with a copy of the 4473 to give you assurance everything was done legally.
Keep me in mind should you decide to ship the gun for a sell.
Thanks.

Thanks for all the comments and support on the shipping thing. I am going to contact a local FFL dealer and see if that can ease some of my pain. I shipped a rifle twice and that was like going for an intrusive physical.

I have not had any local guys step up to the plate yet, but I might wait a day or so.

If you guys have contact with any one in the area that might want something like this, keep me in mind.

Federal law requires a FFL to receive the firearm, not ship it. Individuals can ship firearms to manufacturers, custom gunsmiths, etc. And the FFL can return it directly to the person who shipped it to them for repair or customization.
But on a sale, an FFL MUST log it in his books if it is shipped to them.
I understand the trouble you have to go through with some of the idiots working at UPS or FedEx. You can't ship it from one of the local mail box places, it will have to be a main hub. That does make it a pain in the ***.
You're are not allowed to ship a handgun through the US Mail.
Unless you're good friends with your FFL, it will cost you another chunk of change to ship it through them.
But it would save you the hassle of going to a hub.

LongRifle,

I'll drive down to pick it up if you still need a Virginia resident (with CCW for good measure). My only problem would be that it would have to be on a mutually agreeable weekend. My e-mail is in my profile if you're interested. Thanks, Greekfed

CaptMac thanks for the note, much appreciated.

I did indeed want a face to face, but with all the great help on this site (many thanks are deserved including the moderator), I have found a local FFL that will ship for me. Just ironing out a few things with him

S+W Newbie was indeed the first person to do the reply as prescribed in the rules section and followed with an email, so if this all works out and he still wants it, it will go to him.

I promise to keep everyone apprised if the deal does not work out.

All things being equal, I want it!! But I do understand you may have a local that is interested here. Your original post did request FTF. If you wanted to still do a FTF I have no problem with that and would respect the decision since as stated you were looking for a FTF. However if you are willing to ship? I'll take it!! I just want to be fair.
Thanks!!

Sounds like you may be getting it.
Good for you!
I had to try because some times people change their minds or may spend their money on another good deal.
Best of luck to you and LongRifle!

Geekfed.. that would have worked out...

But see the last note I posted. This Board is so helpful that we got all the details ironed out.

Unless S+W Newbie decides otherwise. If he were to decide otherwise, Technically, Geekfed is the first to offer to come all the way to Va Beach...

Again, thanks to all... I am very appreciative

Picked up my NEW 36. Man this thing is SWEET. The pictures did no justice. Many thanks for a GREAT 36, a Super smooth transaction. If anyone should ever have the pleasure of dealing with Kevin, do so knowing that you are doing well and dealing with a " Top Notch " guy!!!

** Only one small little problem, he promised a clean sock ( protector ) it was only half of a sock. Please negotiate better than I did, I expected to be able to match it to one extra I had. Sock buyer BEWARE!!! **
