I have a 19-4 2 inch round butt with white outline rear sight and red ramp front sight. It is nickel and in excellent condition which I would call 90% or better. It has hogue grip. I am a little slow on pictures but I will try to get them up Serial number is 78K6XXX. The butt frame has a "N" on the left side and a "U" in a circle and a "C" in a triangle on the right side. Screw slots and all joining parts appear to have not been removed. I allow 3 days for inspection and will refund money without question providing the pistol is returned in the same condition as sent. I believe that a mans word is his honor. The person that says "I will take it" has first choice over all other requests for pictures, information or other questions. I would like to get $525 shipped to your dealer-This is my first post on this site but I have sold many items on other sites.
Thanks for reading

The RR front sight and rear sight appear to be non-factory, can you confirm? Thanks...

Stiab
Your judgement and experience is more likely than not better than mine. I have twenty or so Smiths that I have picked up over the years and this is one of them. This revolver is in the same condition as when I picked it up. Although there is a little soot from being fired, I have never fired this revolver.
Thanks for the question

It appears that you have a Model 19 that has been somewhat modified from the factory. Have you measured the barrel [from the forcing cone forward to the end of the barrel] to determine the exact length?
S&W didn't issue any 2" barrel lengths for the Model 19-4...in nickel or blued finish...only 2.5" and longer.
Further, there is no barrel nor frame configuration that was shipped from the S&W factory that would have used that rear sight.
Perhaps it is an aftermarket sight such as a Millett?
If the barrel length is indeed 2" as measured correctly, the only conclusion must be, given the apparent excellent condition of your revolver, that the barrel was shortened and re-nickeled at some point.
Instead, the serial number suggests that your Model 19-4 was shipped ca. 1980 with factory round-butt wood service grips and a 2.5" barrel.
Please don't interpret this information as questioning the veracity of your 'FS' submission as I certainly don't mean it that way; rather that it adds to the possibility that someone will find your revolver more attractive.
I have several K-frames in 2.5" and 3" versions and they are, in my opinion, the very best combat revolvers that S&W ever produced.
Good luck with your sale!

So, is this a 2 inch or a 2.1/2 inch?

I welcome any info that I may receive. You know what they say about assume-I just assumed the barrel was a 2". I will measure the barrel tomorrow as I am away from the revolver and will be back tomorrow.

I'm not the OP, but just from looking at the pictures it is definitely a 2.5", no doubt about that.
